Experiments performed on the PF-1000 plasma focus (PF) facility have shown that a stable corona plasma is created when PF current sheath interacts with an Al wire positioned on the PF electrode axis and attached to the anode face. Soft x-ray line radiation of highly ionized Al atoms was registered by a FSSR mica spectrometer with two-dimensional space resolution. These spectra are emitted by the entire surface of the corona but not from hot spots like as in usual PF discharges.
