The IAEA Technical Committee Meeting on Open Confinement Systems was held September 21 to 24, 1981, at the Novosibirsk Institute of Nuclear Physics. The meeting was attended by 46 participants from the USSR, the USA, Japan and Italy. The programme covered the following topics: ambipolar traps, simple mirrors, cusps, rotating-plasma devices, and systems with small free-path length (multi-mirror and gas-dynamic traps).
