The 10th European Conference was held in a modern building complex in Moscow from 14–19 September 1981. Of about 700 participants, almost 500 were Soviet attendees. Unfortunately, problems of a non-scientific nature led to a reduced participation from some Western countries so that certain important areas of interest to the international plasma physics community were not fully represented (e.g. Garching programmes in stellarators and poloidal divertor tokamaks and the French programme in ICR heating).
第10回欧州会議は、1981年9月14日から19日までモスクワの近代的な建物群で開催された。約700名の参加者のうち、ほぼ500名がソ連からの参加者であった。残念ながら、非科学的な性質の問題により、一部の西側諸国からの参加が減少し、その結果、国際プラズマ物理学コミュニティにとって重要な特定の研究分野が十分に代表されなかった（例えば、ステラレーターおよびポロイダルダイバータートカマクにおけるガルヒング計画、およびICR加熱におけるフランスの計画）。
