A plasma current about a factor of two above the design value for ETF/INTOR is found to provide ideal magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) stability when a poloidal divertor is assumed. Ignition-scale devices may require plasma currents much larger than those presently considered.
ETF/INTORの設計値の約2倍のプラズマ電流が、ポロイダルダイバータを仮定した場合に理想MHD安定性を提供することが見出された。点火規模の装置には、現在検討されているものよりもはるかに大きなプラズマ電流が必要となる可能性がある。
