Quantum theory of the Čerenkov radiation in plasmas

Quantum electrodynamics for anisotropic dispersive media has been developed and applied to the Čerenkov radiation from a fast moving charge in a magnetoplasma. The radiation loss caused by first-order transitions agrees with the classical result obtained from the work done by the charge, the final expression containing no Planck's constant.
