The Conference was again held at Texas Tech University. It had five half-day sessions with five invited and thirty-five contributed papers. There were approximately sixty participants from Canada, France, India, Italy, Switzerland and the United States of America. The papers were primarily fusion oriented and there was more emphasis on the heating of hot, dense, toroidal plasmas than at the first topical conference, two years ago. The acknowledged competition to r.f. heating, in the fusion research area, is neutral injection. Most of the participants apparently felt that r.f. heating comes out quite favourably in comparisons between the two schemes.
