Reduced MHD equations for mirror machines

Non-linear reduced tensor-pressure magnetohydrodynamic equations of motion are derived for β ∼ 1 mirror machines, based on the 'long-thin' ordering. The equations may be solved numerically to obtain equilibria and ascertain stability. An application to 2XIIB is given.
