AbstractMagnetohydrodynamic flow quantities in channels with arbitrary cross section and a nearly arbitrary orientation with respect to a strong variable magnetic field are obtained by considering only the significant contributions to the basic equations. The combination of analytical and numerical integration, called the “core flow solution” is generalized by introducing boundary-fitted coordinates. The resulting numerical code allows the treatment of a great variety of channel shapes, due to a special coordinate transformation. Some applications are shown.
